We have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 L 4 cylinder 5 speed manual SR5.
The performance of our stock vehicle was good. But it could use more performance more drivability.
This is the first time we tried a performance chip for our truck.
The chip came from Amazon Prime in a couple of days, we open the box the instructions were there the chip was there. Very easy to install you just plug it in, next you put your key in the ignition and turn it to the first click and then we use the paperclip to push in a little hole that was a reset button you could hear it click. And then you wait one minute. Then you start your engine. Then you take your car out for a drive. Over the next 100 to 200 miles the computer in this performance chip will learn your driving habits and learn how to optimize the drivability of your vehicle.
What we noticed is that it was a 30% increase in torque which made the truck more drivable. Definitely, we felt a good performance gain in the seat of our pants. I’m not sure if we have mileage increases but usually when you have more power and performance than gas mileage does increase. I’ve noticed that I can lock the motor which you shouldn’t do but sometimes.

Very easy install was skeptical on mod chips with all the mixed reviews, but I noticed the difference right away. Better throttle response and smooth transitions in the gears shifting. Only have 50 miles with the chip still tuning. I plan to test my 0-60 times when I get closer to the recommended 150-200 mile range on it tuning. Good investment for the value of it most tuners run $200+

Now I’m no car buff, but in all honesty I think it was worth the money. It did what it claimed. I drive a 2014 base model optima 2.4l, and it made it far less granny like to drive, the major areas for me are the massive increase in responsiveness and the shift point readjustment (in my opinion) which makes better use of the engines power curve. Don’t expect miracles though, you won’t be burning tires but it’s definitely an upgrade that with a few other mods (even in a 2.4l) will turn your optima into quite the sleeper. Good job guys, I love mine and with how simple the install was i could have probably left it to an young child. Two thumbs up!!!

Works as expected, I drove for about 47 mins after properly installed and noticed an smoother shifting, faster acceleration and better throttle response. I installed the Power Tune 719 module on my 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek which has about 17,000 miles. It has the standard port-injection 2.0 liter flat 4-cylinder boxer engine, with the automatic continuously-variable transmission (CVT)…it’s spec’d at 147 horsepower. I have always run a steady diet of Shell V-Power premium road fuel because I feel the extra detergents keep the engine cleaner, but never had any need for the additional octane numbers, as the car is spec’d for plain 87 octane fuel. No other modifications to the car have ever been made.
For $89.95 on Amazon I did not expect much from this device. My desire and expectations were not for a huge increase in power, but simply better overall drivability and responsiveness, especially at typical low to mid driving speeds of urban/suburban areas where there is much stop-and-go traffic.
CVT variable transmissions drive and feel different because it never really shifts gears…it just increases the ratio as you go faster, and decreases the ratio as you go slower. Specifically, my issue was a lack of responsiveness (like a lag or dead-spot) on the pedal at slower street speeds…not just off-the-line from a dead stop, but also trying to accelerate from say 15mph up to 35mph with a reasonable amount of pep. In such situations, the throttle was a bit dead when only pushing down a little bit, as if the CVT was trying to move the gear ratios up too quickly to get better fuel economy, and you had to give the pedal a decent little kick downward to wake-up the CVT to let the engine rev a little bit higher before increasing gear ratios.
Immediately the same day of installation, I noticed that laggy dead-spot in the throttle had mostly gone away, and only a much smaller kick to the pedal was now needed to signal the CVT transmission to getty-up and go! I love that CVT even more now.
Aside from improved transmission response, I have no way to quantify if any more engine horsepower or torque was really created or not, and I don’t really care…the engine and CVT transmission are now more responsive to my particular driving needs and style, so I am happy with the purchase.
Regardless of any negative reviews I’ve read about this product when used on other types of vehicles, there’s only so much that computer tinkering can do for any normally-aspirated engine in the first-place…it’s not like a boosted engine with a turbo or supercharger where the computer can easily call for more boost pressure.
I give this product a thumbs-up on my 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, and curious if the second-generation 2018 Crosstrek models with direct-injection will see the same results with the CVT transmission.

I was skeptical at first but I was like nah I’ll try it if it works…but damn man don’t ever judge a book by its cover. I live in Hawaii and in the 50th state man gas prices is pretty high and it keeps going up. Used to be $2.78 where I’m from and went up to $4.09 a gallon real quick. So I’d do everything to save some gas for my truck. I installed it on my 2014 Nissan Frontier 4×4 took a minute or so and god damn bro I noticed a big difference. Like it says in the description just plug and play and it’ll take real time data down as your driving. But instead mines kicked in pretty fast the first 100 miles, I noticed more throttle response and way more torque. The biggest is I’ve noticed I save more gas now. Went from 23mpg to 28mpg on highway and I have a 6” lift with 33s fuel rims and Mickey Thompson Baja tires and making it to move takes some more power since there’s more weight added instead than plain old stock now. I do have a K&N intake and an airaid throttle body spacer nothing to fancy of mods but it helps and works well with the chip installed to now. Big difference. Don’t take my word for it though it might vary with other people. And also with city mpg I went from 19mpg to 24mpg. I’m very pleased with this plug and play chip. But man as much as I’m pleased and happy about the power and torque I’m stoked that it really helped on my gas like no joke. I would recommend it. And just letting you know that once you unplug the chip your truck or car will go back to factory system so you don’t really have to redo everything manually which is a plus. The only thing I’m not sure of is if the chip will still keep all the data it gathered still when you unplug it. That I have never tested it out. But other than that I’d give em!

Well after about 50 miles driving I can definitely notice a difference in performance. It won’t turn your CTS into a CTS-V mind you, but surely worth the $90. Shifting is much smoother. I have always had a bit of a rough transition from 1st to 2nd (nothing out of spec though, just my sensitivity) but that is now gone. I have also noticed much less turbo lag and faster acceleration. Jury is still out on gas mileage improvement, but I personally care more for performance than fuel costs.

My performance chip arrived 2 days early. I installed this on my 2003 Trailblazer that has over 165k miles. I use this vehicle to pull a pop up camper. I needed just a little more power, better gas mileage and smoother shifting (automatic transmission). This performance chip gave my Trailblazer exactly what I needed. I honestly was a little skeptical about this products claims, but it lived up to its claims listed in the product description. This performance chip is what I would consider plug and play. When I opened the box I was amazed at how easy to follow and short the instructions were. I didn’t need any tools except an ink pen. The instructions were literally on a business card. The installation was so simple that all l did was plug the chip in under the dash with the vehicle off, then turned the key forward to the first position before starting the Trailblazer and then used the ink pen to push the reset button in for approximately 5 seconds and then waited approximately 1 minute, then started the Trailblazer. I then drove approximately 20 miles to an appointment, and after the appointment on my way back home the performance chip was already showing signs of it’s performance claims in it’s description. I noticed with the AC running the vehicle’s power on take off from a dead stop and when passing another vehicle showed instance response and had more power than normal. The performance chip has also made a major improvement in towing our pop up camper, which is what I was originally hoping for. I’m sure every vehicle will get different results, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this performance chip to my friends and family. I hope this review helps someone who is skeptical like I was make a better decision on whether to purchase this product.

Power Tune Performance Chip Installation Instructions & Troubleshooting

  1. Locate the OBD port in your vehicle. Usually under the dashboard near the steering wheel.
  2. With your vehicle off, plug the Power Tune into the OBD port.
  3. Insert your key into the ignition and turn to the first position but do not start the car. Skip this step if you have a push start.
  4. Press the reset button on the module for 5 seconds & after releasing the button wait about 1 minute. Reset button is the large opening and you will need a paperclip to push it.
  5. Start the engine and continue driving normally.
  6. Over the next 100-200 miles you drive, the Power Tune will meticulously tune your vehicles Engine Control System to unlock its full power potential.

If you do not feel an increase in power after 100-200 miles then we recommend doing a simple reset. Remove the device and re-install following the provided instructions. Make sure there is a good connection and no debris in the ports.

How’s it going guys, Zef Space here again with another video…

So we’re all strapped in and we’re going to go ahead and show you what the box looks like.

It comes in this and it has a serial number on it and a little white box that says Powertune Engine Tuning Module.

It doesn’t have any tape or anything like that.

So you just open it up, it’s very aesthetically pleasing.

It does not come with a tooth pick. I put it in there and I’m going to tell you guys why later.

This little installation instruction car says “thank you for your purchase, 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back” if it doesn’t work.

That makes me feel better about knowing whether or not it will work.

And we’re going to be going over this together so you guys will be able to see first person someone doing it.

And don’t bend these if you’re wondering.

I know you’re all very smart but just try not to bend these because it can be bad.

So this little hole right here is a button. I’m not sure if you can here it but it’s a little button that clicks. So that’s the reset button.

So when you plug it in you’re going to have to push that button to reset it to let your car know to let the games begin.

That’s what we’re going to be using that for. Now all we have to do is go outside in the heat.

That’s it guys that’s what it looks like.

But yea we’re going to go ahead and follow the instructions like a good boy and figure out what we need to do.

So i’m gonna take the lid off and you’re going to need this card so don’t throw it away.

Turn the car off and make sure it’s off.

Locate the OBD port usually located underneath the steering wheel.

So we’re going to go ahead and do that.

There’s a little thing right here called fuse obd.

We’re gonna go ahead and pop that off right there.

So right here, hopefully you guys can see this little thing here inside your port is what you’re going to need to plug in your chip.

Insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the first position but do not start the car.

So let’s go ahead and do that now.

Here we go, first click.

Oh my gosh we did it!

Press the reset button on the module for 5 seconds and after releasing the button wait about 1 minute.

So this is where the toothpick comes in.

5 Seconds…

1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

It’s on.

Put the fuse OBD cover back on.

Start the engine and continue to drive normally.

Over the next 100-200 miles you drive, the Power Tune will meticulously tune your vehicles Engine Control System to unlock its full power potential.

Over the next couple days I’ll be making videos if I notice any differences, things like that.

But I just wanted to show you guys how to install it.

And we are going to start the car here and over a period of time I’ll let you guys know if I feel any difference to the car.

So for today we’re just going to start the car and see if there’s a difference at all or is there not compared to over a period of time.

Start the car up.

While you’re driving around it will look like that and it tells you if it’s working.

So right now we’re at about 1,000 rpm

I don’t know if you guys can see that but the rpm’s are jumping pretty high.

Now this might be just me getting excited but…

Right now I’m heading to the back roads so I can make some videos for you guys that way we can get some real footage of driving.

Ok I’m gonna do some revs 10 miles into the tune.

Dude, you guys have to hear the cold air intake, it literally is pushing so much air now.  It did not do that before.

Overall this Power Tune is really good, A+

I just got it but I already feel like it made a big difference.

It probably would be faster than it is right now so that something to take into consideration as well.

His first run was without the chip and did 0-60 in 15 seconds.

The next run with the chip installed did 0-60 in 10 seconds!

The following run he did 0-100 mph in 43 seconds without the chip.

Then he did 0-100 mph in 38 seconds with the chip installed.

This is a tuner test. Somebody kind of called me out. They said if the tuner really works and you have a perfect car to really test it out. You can see me as you see the tuner chip is out and then we got the timer right there and thanks to my friend Jordan.

Real quick let me wait for these cars up to pass bro this way for these cars go. I’m trying to do something dang alright hazards off it’s off.

3….2…..1

Okay 14 seconds we did a zero to 60 I thought at the time we’re kind of late so I let it go on a little bit that’s without the chip 0 to 60 right there. All right now we’re going to turn around real quick right here I’ll put on a loopback around.

The next time you see me we going to be in the same spot again.  All right you  see the time 14 seconds well 14 I don’t know it’s more of a well 15 to get from zero to 60.  Hey I hit that gas pedal for real that felt good  all right I’m gonna go ahead turn around right here. We turn around right here yeah we can but you’re all going to see now we’ll be in the same space. Alright alright I’m back I just put a plugged the tuner chip back in and we’re gonna hit this thing man. All right y’all ready 1 2 3…oh my god oh…oh that was beautiful!

That right there was beautiful you hold up 10 seconds from 0 to 60 with the chip in my car. I say it’s a 4 second there’s a four second difference but come on now but y’all hear the exhaust. God dang I felt it.  10 seconds seconds all right now from the try to do someone now you know let me keep going. I’m gonna go up on the highway and I gonna do 0 to 100 so when y’all see me again I gonna go ahead and go zero to 100 on being the entrance of the highway peace.

Alright what’s up we’re gonna do 0 to 100 without the chip and restart this timer and wait a minute make sure nobody come in and I go.

That’s the first time I’ve gone one hundred in this 43 seconds going from 0 to 100 real quick. I’m slowing down I’m surprised ain’t no cops around her but you can see the speedometer good right kind of. As you all saw 43 seconds that was pretty good man I’m not gonna lie right that’s the first time actually you know I’m gonna start doing that more.

I’m gonna give whoever there was that telling me to do this a shout out whenever I see his name again. I’m gonna put the tuner chip back in and I’ll see how good we’re going. I’ll go ahead loop around I like. I like going fast.  That was beautiful that’s why is what y’all don’t know well you know whoever has a challenger gotta know this feelin man like it’s great the feeling of just pressing hitting your gas pedal to the ground and just going fast like really all right. I’m shocked too soon.

I’m gonna stop right here if this this is fun. I’m going to stop right here here go ahead turn on the hazards I’m fine I’m going to I’m going to put the Powertune back in. It’s funny how so many people are turnt.  I gotta find the tuner, found it let me turn off the blink blink.

Let me go in the parking lot real quick. when you hit the manual mode you do have to park because  you know I don’t drive a manual so I gotta keep it automatic but when you do that because you hit it to the side it goes to manual mode so gotta hurry up hurry up put it in park and that resets it.

All right anyway we’ll wait for these cars to pass. I don’t want a ticket I don’t want no tickets. That’s my I was afraid of okay he gone all right I’m just trying to have 0 to 100 right here.

I put the tuner back in, we’re gonna hit this bitch.

0 to 100 on this thin stretch of road. Watch out for the cops we going ham we going ham come on baby…

It hit a 100 at 38 sec.

If that car wasn’t in my way I could’ve went straight I’m not saying the excuses but it was a good 38 seconds.

Okay tuner 38 seconds no tuner 46 seconds and then without the tuner around 0 to 60 it was wasn’t it like 15  but with the tuner it was like 11 seconds.

It is your small gaps but it’s really good gaps but no a/c on the windows are closed that tells you all how good the tuner is.

This is like the first time I’ve ever did zero to 100 in my car ever on the public road like this ever zero to 100 this is  first time and then it’s crazy I do notice the difference I hope y’all can see the difference.

I forgot your name but thank you for telling me to do this because it was about time I’d actually broke my challenger in like you know just I wanna race somebody one day.

We are back we did zero to 60. 0 to 100  tuner chip out to tuner chip in and  y’all saw the differences. I probably don’t know who I forgot your name again whoever have a problem with how I reviewed the chip he had a suggestion. Let me know in the comments  because you know here’s my car, wheels doing good, as you all saw we went on the highway zooming around 18 wheel trucks.

Come look at these tires, we did pretty good, theres a few missing tread marks, when I hit it and put the pedal to the ground, zero to 60 and zero to 100.

I felt it,  felt the wheels just go from underneath me so to speak and just it just launched the exhaust sounded good I had no complaints.

The only complaint I have is to the freakin cars in the way you know if y’all saw that car I might wait man I couldn’t only be a good 39 seconds but I could have had a better time than to 0-100 with the tuner chip if that car didn’t get in my way.

But I ain’t complaining man I’m giving no excuses this is my baby 2009 Dodge Challenger RT tuner chip I say  it’s working it’s working I notice the difference it may be small like I said but any gain of horsepower is good horsepower and any gain of torque is good torque.

I got a surprise coming for you all I ordered it yesterday it’s supposed to give me 20 horsepower and 20 pound foot of torque so y’all just stay y’all stay tuned we’re friends Jordan go ahead we film it whenever I yeah and I guess I’m gonna install it myself.

I’m a kinda of mechanic but you know what I’m saying back to the main topic my car. I hope you all can hear me good this time because you know looming with all these cars going by.

I hope y’all enjoyed this video though man because you know I surely did I had fun, as you all can tell like my friend Jordan in the backseat recorded for me he like the car was gone he was almost gone  he didn’t even have on his seatbelt.

I really have fun this is what I think this pretty much what you should do when you own a fast muscle car sports car you should do in shout out to the dude in the comments.

But the 0 to 60 and 0 to 100 you saw the speed on there you saw me take this tuner chip out and put it back in and you saw the speed.

I ain’t trying get no tickets you all know what I was thinking cause I already in this car I have not had no speed tickets  surprise yes no speed tickets whatsoever no conflict with police.

I’m pretty happy with it man go ahead get a good quick look I do really need to upgrade my brake calibers because they do look rusty I do change my own brake pad but that’s the next agenda after and get thing from under the hood.

It’s Jordan and I’m back with another tuner update, as you can see I’m just getting off from work and I’m in my beautiful Challenger.  Let me go ahead give you a good look at the dash – yes my gas is low don’t look at it. There is the tuner chip right here and it’s been it’s been about two weeks and I’ve  noticed a difference in power,  my exhaust sounds, the reaction of time so we’re gonna do a couple of runs and hopefully I won’t get a ticket because it is in the school zone.

You’re gonna hear I’m gonna do a couple runs back and forth for you so you can hear it and then I’m gonna do another version looking at the speedometer over there. I’m just going around my school real quick. I’m going to do a lap around and the sound, the reaction time has been good and I have no problems out of this thing and I’ve been noticing like I said before it’s a faster reaction time so when I first on the gas pedal it like he goes like real quick.  We’re going in this bridge this another update now I’m just go ahead and turn around here we go. This better not make me run out of gas right here we go. Just like that, let me ride by with this cop.

Now I’m back, hear that, was it good enough?  It was good for me. It’s just a quick run I got another video coming out it’s about something that’s coming on my car so i’m gonna do a quick lap round. Going to loop around because of the bad camera angle but you know I’m a loop around real quick and let you hear it. I’m not even supposed to be here but you know that’s what I wanted to make this video because somebody asked for update and then you know I wanted to have a little more time to let you know more to let you all see how the car is doing but as you can hear this sounds beautiful right now I have no complaints and all is well.

I’m not even supposed to be at school now I don’t go to school or just just to drive up here you know people sure do park crazy man but get out of this then I’m gonna go ahead stop it here and then I’m gonna do a run looking at so you see how how I  accelerate stuff like that.  So I’m gonna go ahead and cut to the second part get out of here and just looking at the speedometer all right hope you enjoy and then we give them that they get the tuner just like that all right man here we go all right.

Second part of the video looking at the speedometer the whole time y’all gonna be hearing exhaust from the outside also this is just shows you know how quick I’m accelerating and like I said in the front how quick it’s gonna go and all that jazz – people at tfcc drive too fast that’s why this light takes forever. Do you see it?  I used to get lag time like I first on the gas and it will take about like 15 seconds to finally you know just kick in the where I will just launch.

But since having this tuner installed it’s like when I press hard down it just goes I’m gonna try to do that right now but you see I have cars in the way but i’m going to try to do it though. I don’t care this is for you and I love this car who doesn’t want to go fast with low gas, shoot  but anyway I got my radar right there if you want me to do  a review over that you can  just tell me because it’s been working pretty good alright we got to go. Slow mother-loving car get out from in front of me all right wait a minute and hit it. You see how quick i’m going? Like i’m already at 50mpg that’s all, it was like no lag time at all.  another light yellow I mean it’s red now something let me go ahead and stop.

I keep on talking are you’re looking at on the speedometer I guess and looking at the spikes of how fast I’m going and speed and all that other jazz like that man needs gas but I’m doing the video right now.  But you can see it’s my screen saver whatever it is little so you let me just turn the camera looking at me or quick hopefully I don’t stop but hello okay. I don’t know this is on my phone right now but hopefully I’m holding it right so you can see me correctly but anyway you know I love this tuner because it has really helped my car like I’ve noticed the change in power and the reaction time I know I said that by five times  but it just goes.

What’s up guys this is Jordan Jlee squad  and I just got in my fork and I had eaten already got home look what came in the mail it is by Powertune and it’s an engine tuning module.  It was 80 bucks from eBay and is supposed to give me 35%  horsepower so this like a test out video you know. I’m sorry for the bad lighting I just got off work and it’s just like 11:00, 11:30 at night already.

So I’m gonna just go ahead and install this I don’t know If I can self-install this but because it said let me show you what it looks like. It is by Powertune and see if you can read. The instructions on the back says locate the OBD this tuner is right here that and it plugs into the obd port like I understand.  It says with your vehicle off plug the Powertune into the OBD port insert your key, I got push start so I guess I push it once plug the Powertune and  turn to the first position. Don’t start the car press the restart button on the module for five seconds do not release the button wait about one minute start the engine and continue driving normally.  Over the next 100 to 200 miles you drive the Powertune will tune you vehicles engine control system and unlock its full power potential.

It says press the restart button is it that little thing right there, that little button right there and I’m probably gonna have to find a paperclip for five second and then wait a minute anyway. I will be right back so I will go out real quick to get the paperclip. Alright let me adjust this little bit more freaking , there we go, I know you all can see me I will be back. Finally got a hair pin that is the restart button right there once again it’s by Powertune engine tuning module.

It’s about power tuning pretty much also I got in the mail two 900k headlight bulbs for my car cause you know what 9000 , 9000k headlights for my car which is good you know everybody need some brighter headlights. I was thinking if I get that down I’m gonna have to get you know I can match the fog light so you know you know this is a  09 challenger so you know they don’t got no halos.

Alright lets go install this don’t you see me right alright lets go install this thing. I saw alright lets go and put it in right real quick just right there this is like a failed attempt. Hey where is this thing is damn I see it there we go all right there we go right there first start up the car. We’re going to press the button for  5 seconds one two three four five hey now we getting about a minute, alright there we go I now gotten away in about a minute and after we have waited a minute. We read the instructions again which I don’t agree but I would never know how to do it I will read this part but I got no light. It says after that reset button on the module for five seconds and after release of the button wait about one minute so we gonna wait about 60 seconds.

I guess I will just talk to y’all real quick I don’t need this light somebody look but anyway yeah sure how y’all been doing its been a while you know youtube issues turned off the adsense right now and I had been busy with work. Work man but I do have a big video coming for you all excuse me you got a big video coming it’s a that go over my dodge challenger alright im gonna give y’all hint it cost 735 mother flippin dollars they look good they look hot.  They all go with the car well that’s only a hint. The other thing that I been gone like I said earlier, can’t show my address, this is 9,000k HID lights/ bulb so I can put in my car have little brighter headlights you know so that’s pretty much it.

I got this I bought that and my Powertune we’re gonna see if it actually works. This is a 80 dollar tuner that’s promising to give you 35% torque 35% horsepower save on gas mileage fuel you know just fuel efficiency and we are gonna see man we gonna see am I gonna feel every feel any difference. I will let y’all know update y’all but for right now look its just lighting up good then I look its green there is only green. Yes cool but I almost cut the video but anyway I guess so I’m gonna go ahead and get out of here I love you all JJLEE squad I will update you all on this beautiful ride that I love so much. They gonna dance of course in my car right there I will update that once I get whats coming its suppose to be coming here today later today or later tomorrow its not 12 am yet its 11:48 suppose we come here tomorrow toward the end of the day hopefully earlier so I can help get them put on that’s the only clue y’all from now on. You know there’s major thing that will affect look of the dodge challenger and I think this is the first thing you do really just get this but I will finish this in a later video. I’m finally gonna shower or chill or go to sleep finally off tomorrow and hopefully my things will come tomorrow again we have tried out the Powertune engine tuning module its says if y’all can see can’t focus right there we go. It Works! Power Tune Performance Chip Review (Part 2/2)

What’s up everybody is Slade and I’m just gonna get right into it. I’ve done some little modifications to my car and I really like doing it so I thought why not start a little video.

First time with my gaming channel showing some mods that I’m doing as you can see I’ve got the 2011 Hyundai Sonata SC model completely stock completely standard non turbo 2.4 liter engine and it’s a little dirty right now so forgive me for that do that need to get it cleaned up we’ve been having a lot of rain here so yeah I got to take care of that but I love my baby had it for about six years now and I thought what .

What might be a good idea to start a hobby than to do a little project car.

So I got this power tune engine tuning module and I thought why not add a little bit of power to it and see what I can do.

I’m not a racer I’m not a car enthusiast. I don’t know all the details and ins and out I’m just an average Joe who loves this car and loves taking care of it.

So this is my project vehicle right here but before I begin as you can see I did a little bit of mods to it install these spec d tuning LED strip projectors found a new fin in front of it carbon fiber vinyl that’s actually vinyl right here carbon fiber look to it.

I also installed fog lights because this the SC standard edition doesn’t come with fog lights this again it’s completely stock so I installed these hid fog lights right here and again over here also I had the windows tinted and installed the spoilers got the rear spoiler rear lip spoiler and the back windshield spoiler as well.

So love my car like I said and I’m gonna install this power tune so we can see what it does now it claims to increase horsepower increase fuel efficiency and make the engine run a little better we shall see I’m not expecting it to burn any BMWs or anything like that but I would like to at least keep up with them on the Turnpike so this is the little module right here.

I just took it out the box and I’m doing this video because I actually haven’t seen too many efficient mods for my car. All I see is for the turbo the 2.0 liter turbo edition I don’t drive a turbo so that’s something that I didn’t get

Am I regretting it? no my little four banger. it’s got some kick to it and I really like it and it’s got some pickup to it so again I just figured maybe I add a little bit more horsepower and efficiency to it by adding in this module so I stated earlier that I haven’t seen too many mods for this.

So I’m gonna go ahead and do it right now.

Now the instructions say you need to locate the OBD port which is underneath the dash support that usually runs when you go to autozone or something to get the diagnostic on it. You plug this right into it and it’s supposed to reset the cars computer to make it a little bit more efficient to add in more air, trick the engine that is adding in a little bit more well not trick the engine but make the engine think like it’s adding in enough air so it’s supposed to add in more air to fuel for the ratio and increase thus increase the torque a little bit more torque and a little bit more horsepower so so.

Locate the OBD port in the vehicle with the vehicle shut off. so I’ve got the vehicle shut off no key in there and once it’s in you have to get a little safety pin or a needle or something and poke that little hole that’s the reset button so once you plug it in the lights gonna turn red hold the reset button for five seconds and then after that hold it turn the key.

Wait for another minute let’s see yeah insert the key put it in hold it insert the key into the ignition but.

Do not start the car so I’m gonna do that I’m going to plug in the ODB the power tune module.

I’m staying right here because it’s underneath the dashboard and you can see its right there.

Those who don’t know  novices like me again those who do know you’re probably laughing right now but that’s okay I’m a novice I don’t know what the hell I’m doing I’m just learning as I go.

So there’s the OBB for it right there OBD port so this is gonna go right up in here just like that okay next it says to insert the key into the ignition and turn it on to the first position do not start the car so I’m gonna do that now.

Again very dirty I put my cars to. It’s been raining.  I’ve got all types of leaves and dirt and mud from over time just haven’t really clean it much but I will

All right first position okay then it says to press the reset button on the module for five seconds and after that after the release of the button wait an additional minute so I am going to get a little needle I just had it don’t know where it went give me a second I have to get another one because I dropped it somewhere I’ll be right back.

All right so I got my little needle right here and I’m going to hold it for five seconds all right a little green light this turned on so let’s put it up in there come on.

So I gotta put this down for a second alright and this is supposed to reset it.

So 1 2 3 4 5 all right. now just reset now I have to after release of the button wait about minute so I have to wait another minute before it’s reset and then start my engine and then after that I have to drive around for 100 – a couple hundred miles to see any changes.

Now people have said that you really can’t notice much changes

I guess those who really know your car will start to feel some of the changes to it I actually haven’t done too much with it but some of the little changes I have done with my car I do notice a little bit more of power and I really enjoy it so I can tell the difference if my car is actually increased in power or not some people might not I probably have added maybe by additional 10 to 15 extra horsepower to my vehicle with some of the modifications that I’ve done  but while I’m waiting for that minute right here I’ll go ahead and show you some of the other mods that I’ve done

And this right here this thing. I love this is the engine cold air intake so this is a true cold air intake because you can see throttle body right down here and it snakes right down through down to the engine and you can see the filter right down there there’s the filter so that comes right in through the underside of my car and I actually learned the difference between cold air and taking the truth cold air intake or short Ram intake is that those who relief .. remove the airbox usually goes right in through the throttle body and it snakes up and sits right here with the little dam to kind of separate the engine heat from it those aren’t the actual true CAI or cold air intakes those are just short Ram intakes so there is a possibility for it to receive some of the hot air that comes off the engine but the cold air intake and actually sneaks down right underneath into the bumper section right down up in there as you can see. So again a little dirty.

This red bar right here is what connects to the fog lights that I have the HID fog lights and I have a snake in right through to the rubber gasket right down up in there to a button that I can control for my fog light so it’s not the best setup but hey it’s the best I can do so it’s been about a minute now and I’m going to close that go up into the car start up engine

Right now filled it up full of gas I got 400 miles four hundred nine miles full tank so I will drive around check again back for another couple of days and we’ll see if this does anything if not I may only pay like 80 bucks for it with a little module and I didn’t have to splice any wires I didn’t have to mess around again too much with the engine I didn’t have to cut anything which I hate doing because I’m not an electrician so I don’t want to mess with things that I don’t know this one is just simple plug and play and there aren’t too many good modules that I found for this model

So we shall see if this works out and if it does I’ll give you guys another update in a couple of days and test it out and let you know if it’s worth the 80 bucks or not so stay tuned and yeah I think I like this I’ll keep this going

Hey what’s up everybody and thanks for watching and here is my review of Powertune performance enhancing module.

Now I installed this thing with the intent of increasing fuel efficiency maybe adding a little more horse power to it.

So the question is: Did it do anything?

My response is yes it did I can say without a doubt that my engine has been performing a lot better than the norm before I installed it.

I didn’t have high hopes for this thing I had low expectation to see what it can do I paid 80 bucks for it.

It’s not a big deal it’s a little tiny module that that install underneath the dashboard connected to the OBD port.

I didn’t have to do any wire splicing which is fine which was absolutely fantastic because now I don’t have to return this thing and worry about what am I gonna do open wires and connectivity on my battery but I have to say that this little guy really did the trick here now

Now it didn’t add a lot of performance which again I wasn’t expecting it to do but I definitely can tell the difference in power with my car.

The transition between the gears and high RPM ranges has gotten a lot smoother I don’t feel the engine struggling as much and I don’t feel that kick that jump between fourth and fifth gear anymore or even the third and fourth gear that kick is gone.

It just seems to be regulating a lot better now the RPMs I can actually rev them up to 6000 without any high speeds without it struggling as much as and I can feel that the engine really wants to get up into the higher gears up into the higher ranges of the RPMS so I have to say that whatever this little thing did. It definitely did the trick and what it did was actually… I know what it did.

It actually improves … increase the efficiency between the fuel and the air ration from what the engine is receiving from my cold air intake and even the fuel that is being mixed with.

So I have to say I’m very excited that I have this little thing in here and I have to say it definitely worth the buy so if you’re thinking about it. If you’re doing your research and you’re wondering which performance module is is good and it’s low cost and efficient easy on the wallet of you think powertune performance enhancing module is good I would agree with you I would have to recommend this is a good buy

So thanks again for watching I hope this video was helpful in your decision-making and next video I’ll be posting a install of the throttle body spacer just this little guy right here so this supposed to increase more efficiency of the air into my engine here through the throttle through the port of the throttle body so I’ll be putting this little thing in here showing how it’s done and again for those novices and newbies out there I’m with you and I’ll do the best I can to help out as much as I can
